After-School Residencies
We provide educational programming of the highest quality, while catering to your schedule and specific needs. All schools are eligible for our Residencies. Other community centers, clubs, and organizations may also qualify. After-School Residencies are a long-term commitment and can last for weeks, months, and can even develop into yearly partnerships!
Drama Club
Grades K – 12
In today's economic climate, budget cuts within the arts have come to be expected. Many institutions are making the tough choice to limit funding for drama, or remove the funds entirely, creating great hardship for these programs and eventually causing full cancellation.
NCTC believes that no student should be denied the opportunity to perform theatre at his or her own school. Now, more than ever, we must support the arts and the benefits it can provide for each participant.
If your program has been impacted by budget cuts, or the program is struggling to find stability due to poor funding, our "Drama Club" residency is for you. This after-school residency will excite the young thespians, encourage the community to come together, and serve as a great tool for the teachers, student body, and parents.
For schools looking to create a newly endorsed program, we can provide: the start-up direction, necessary production elements, materials, the professional creative team, and much more.
For schools looking to gain assistance in the restructuring of a previously developed program, we can provide: the professional consultant, hands-on guidance, workshops & seminars, materials, and more.
Theatre Arts Mentorship
Grades 6 – 12
The arts have the ability to improve academic achievement, self-confidence, creativity, and reading & writing proficiency. The pursuit of becoming a well-rounded artist, however, provides an even greater opportunity to improve in these areas!
Our "Theatre Arts Mentorship" residency will allow for your students to learn new aspects of putting on a show – ranging from stage management and choreography, to costume design and music direction. The students will produce and perform, while being mentored by our team and attending interactive workshops.
The residency is focused on allowing the students to become more than just actors but, rather, true theatre artists. This program is perfect for groups that may be seeking an alternative experience, for their students, throughout the school year.
We can partner with your current production to simply oversee and implement the mentorship. We can also carryout the entire production process, culminating in a fully staged musical theatre revue. The sessions can be daily or weekly. NCTC accommodates to your schedule!
Institutional Development
Teachers and Staff of grades 4 – 12
The arts provide benefits for not only students but educators as well! Educators deserve the opportunity to be instructed in theatre advocacy, basic performance techniques, and all other theatrical fundamentals. Similar to our one-time development session in NCTC Touring, we'll provide the master teacher and necessary materials – you provide the educators and the space.
Our yearlong residency is structured to incorporate the entire faculty; no academic area will be neglected. We believe that it is vital for our institutions to understand how transcendental this art form can be. Through our monthly interactive seminar and workshop, your teachers will be exposed to the cross-curricular power of the arts.
We will provide the necessary materials and facilitator, as well as construct the schedule to ensure that all of your teachers can attend. A preview of the program is available for administrators who may be interested.
