Studies have shown that children who are exposed to theatre benefit immensely. Attending the theatre and participating in the arts can improve reading and writing proficiency, encourage personal creativity, and boost self-confidence and sense of worth.

Apprentice Company
NCTC's Premier Pre-Professional Company
The Apprentice Company is a select group made up of exceptional teens from the Northeast. We audition prospective teens each school year to participate in this yearlong program. The Apprentice Company is unique and dynamic, and offers a glimpse into the professional theatre world.
Those performers who are accepted spend one full term participating in master classes and workshops, and provide hands-on assistance for our On Stage Season working alongside professional artists. The second full term is spent as a performance group, touring with NCTC and making numerous appearances at local events & functions. Depending on the season and shows, the Apprentice Company also appears on-stage beside professional actors.
The Apprentice Company program runs from September to May. Acceptance is by audition only. Eligible participants must be enrolled in high school and have considerable previous theatrical experience.
